Hi everyone! My name is Alicen Teitgen. I started teaching at Butler in 2019 and started as the Faculty Advisor for the Butler Catholic Community in 2024. As a faculty member, I teach in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department predominately teach Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. I grew up in the Greater Indianapolis area and graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School. I did my undergraduate degree at Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, my M.S. at Ball State University, and my PhD from Purdue University at IUPUI. I’ve made my tour of Indiana colleges, but love being back home in Indy specifically at Butler University. My husband works for our Catholic Church in Noblesville and we’re raising 4 children. My passions lie in raising my four wonderful kids and mentoring students. I enjoy reading, running, and building community. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Butler Catholic Community.
